Engineering & Design

The Engineering and Design Division, which is located in room 4130 in City Hall, designs capital improvement projects to be administered by the department and reviews State projects and privately submitted site plans to ensure that construction is in compliance with the City's engineering standards and policies. This division is also responsible for administering the State-mandated Chesapeake Bay Preservation Ordinance, as well as performing all City survey work, maintaining all engineering records, and administering the street lighting program. In addition, this division conducts the federally mandated bridge inspection program.
