The City of Alexandria Pension Administration Division manages the pension and deferred compensation (457) plans for City employees including public safety employees.

Ad Hoc Retirement Benefit Advisory Group
City Council adopted Resolution 2432 on January 25, 2011, to establish the Ad Hoc Retirement Benefit Advisory Group. This group 1) looked at the need for any future changes to defined benefit pension plans created under the authority of City Council; 2) examined the current financial status of the City's pension funds; and 3) advised the City manager, the City Council Pension and Compensation Subcommittee, and City Council on any options that should be considered.
