Thank You for Sharing With Those Less Fortunate - Holiday Sharing 2012
Holiday Sharing distribution volunteers help a family with their packages.

Mrs. C sent this photo of her happy kids on Christmas morning and this note, which has been translated from Spanish: “Through this letter I am thanking you for all of the gifts we received in December. It was a very special day. In our home there was so much happiness because God shared with us this special family…….. May God bless your homes and your hearts and that this year be filled with blessings for everyone.”
Volunteering is fun. The staff at Alexandria Children’s Dentistry are all smiles during a break. Dr. Angela Austin, DDS, is second from right.

Christmas in the Summer
DC attorney Jen Klar and her mom scour the ads for coats and jackets after the holidays. They purchase jackets in all sizes at the lowest prices and next year, plan to donate them to The Fund for Alexandria’s Child Holiday Sharing Program. Their numbers are approaching 500! Which got us to thinking… kids don’t need these coats at Christmas-time; they need them well before that. Plus, there are plenty of smart bargain shoppers out there. So please keep an eye open for great prices for “Christmas in the Summer” when we will start collecting warm jacket-gloves-and-hat combos for children who have experienced abuse or crisis. More info later.
