Hispanic Orientation Education Program
The purpose of the Hispanic Orientation Education Program is to facilitate the movement of Alexandria Hispanic residents into the American mainstream through sensitive acculturation and building self-sufficiency.
Services include:
- Basic English literacy classes
- Citizenship classes
- Crisis intervention services
In a cooperative effort with private and public agencies, workshops are provided on a variety of life skills topics such as:
- Becoming a U.S. citizen
- Employment
- Health and cardiovascular disorders
- HIV/AIDS prevention
- Domestic violence
- Crime prevention
