Addiction Recovery Month Community Celebration Planned

Join friends, family and fellow travelers on the road to recovery in the Addiction Recovery Month Community Celebration, Wednesday, September 25, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Lee Center, 1108 Jefferson St. State Senator George Barker will be the guest speaker. Learn about drug and alcohol abuse prevention and recovery and how to support someone entering into or continuing in recovery. The celebration will include a talent show, barbeque, live music, moon bounce and door prizes.

This event is part of National Recovery Month and is sponsored by the Alexandria Department of Community and Human Services; Alexandria’s Mental Health HOPE Campaign; Friends of the Alexandria Mental Health Center; Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Alexandria; Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration; the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; and Substance Abuse and Addiction Recovery Alliance of Virginia.
