The Alexandria Fire Department's Logistics Group provides leadership and management of the Fire Maintenance Facility, Department facilities (existing and planned) and Supply Programs.
Facilities and Supply
The Facilities and Supply Unit of the Logistics Group is responsible for obtaining items such as supplies, uniforms, equipment and tools for the nine fire stations, Professional Development Center and Fire Maintenance Shop. These items are distributed by and accounted for by this section. The facilities side of this section interacts with vendors and contractors to obtain needed repairs and upgrades to Fire Department facilities.
Fire Maintenance Unit
Fire Maintenance Supervisor
The Fire Maintenance Unit is responsible for all repairs and preventive maintenance for the departments fire, EMS and staff vehicles. The shop provides technical assistance relating to equipment purchases. Staff perform post delivery outfitting of new emergency response vehicles. The Fire Department Shop is staffed by one supervisor and three mechanics who provide fleet services to the department during normal working hours and on a stand-by basis for after hours maintenance emergencies.
