In recognition of World AIDS Day on December 1, the Alexandria Health Department will host a visual display of HIV/AIDS information, education and outreach services, beginning Monday, November 26, through Saturday, December 1, in the Vola Lawson Lobby of City Hall, 301 King Street.

Displays will include information on:

  • World AIDS Day & Proclamations
  • HIV/AIDS services in the City of Alexandria
  • HIV prevention and education in the community
  • The Alexandria Commission on HIV/AIDS
  • The Facing AIDS Campaign

World AIDS Day, observed each year on December 1, is dedicated to raising awareness of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Since its inception in 1988, it has become one of the most recognized international health days and offers a key opportunity to raise awareness and funds, remember those who have passed on, and celebrate victories, such as increased access to treatment and prevention services. World AIDS Day events take place around the world on every continent. Help join in and show your support.
