Alexandria Historical Restoration & Preservation CommissionThe Historical Restoration and Preservation Commission was empowered by the Virginia Assembly in 1962 to preserve and acquire historic buildings and easements in the City.
Commission members include: five citizen members appointed by the City Council and two citizen members appointed by the Governor serving four-year terms. The Commission meets at the call of the Chairperson.
