All kids have the right to be safe.

But sometimes, parents and other adults can’t control how frustrated they get. Sometimes those adults—even a mom or a dad—can take out their angry feelings on kids.

If an adult is hurting you in ways that are not okay, it is not your fault. If an adult yells at you a lot, or hits you, or sends you to school every day without a coat or a lunch, you can get help. You can call anytime, even if it’s very late at night.

Bullet Point - Heart For Emergencies, call 911. Anytime you feel in danger, it is an emergency.
Bullet Point - Heart Just to talk to someone, call  (703) 838-0800

Please don't think your feelings or hurts are “nothing to worry about.” More than 3 million kids are abused or neglected in the United States each year. You are not alone.

Other adults can help the adults who may be hurting you. If you need help, please call (703) 838-0800.
