WMATA image Second Phase of Metrorail Fare Adjustments to Take Effect August 1
The second phase of Metrorail fare adjustments will take effect on Sunday, August 1, with the implementation of a new 20-cent surcharge during peak-of-the-peak weekday travel periods, an increase in the cost of three Metrorail passes and a 25-cent discount per trip for customers who use a SmarTrip® card instead of a paper fare card.

Local Motion Survey 
The City of Alexandria’s Local Motion program is currently conducting an online survey about transportation issues and services in the City.  The results of the survey will be used to identify residents' and employees' travel needs and to develop new travel services.  The survey will take about 12 minutes to complete and your answers will be completely confidential.  After completing the survey, you may enter for a chance to win a $50 Best Buy gift card or a $50 SmartTrip transit card.

King Street Metro Station Access Improvements  
The City and WMATA are working to improve safety and access for pedestrians, transit vehicles and others at the King Street Metro Station.This $4.3 million effort is fully grant funded and the City encourages comments on the preliminary concept designs.
