Important customer information about this weekend's Blue/Yellow service

Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday and continuing through system closing on Sunday, shuttle buses will replace Orange Line trains between Court House and Foggy Bottom and Blue Line trains between Pentagon and Foggy Bottom to allow for rail fastener renewal, insulator replacement and sludge removal from the tunnel beneath the Potomac River. Two stations — Rosslyn and Arlington Cemetery — will be closed.

On December 5, the National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board  launched the Reach A Ride service and website, a new transportation information source for travelers with special needs in the region, in an ongoing effort to improve access to transportation information. This is the first website of its kind that makes information about specialized transportation options available in one place for the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia and Suburban Maryland.

The City of Alexandria was recently recognized as a Walk Friendly Community by the Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center (PBIC).  The City’s Silver Level “Walk Friendly” designation, evaluates success in working to improve a wide range of conditions related to walking, including safety, mobility, and access.
