“Last year’s Festival attracted 141 film submissions from 17 countries,” said Pat Miller, Chair of the Alexandria Film Festival and the Alexandria Commission for the Arts.  “This year, as we celebrate our fifth anniversary and as we become better known among the filmmaking community, we expect to select from an even larger pool of exceptional films.”

The Alexandria Film Festival offers an enriching cinematic experience for filmmakers and film lovers by presenting high quality, new and rarely seen short and feature length films.  Its mission is to promote cinema as an important cultural and educational asset and market Alexandria as a dynamic venue for making, exhibiting, and experiencing cinematic art.  This year’s festival, November 3 – 6, will again take place at various venues throughout Alexandria such as the George Washington National Masonic Memorial, The Athenaeum, The Lyceum, Old Town Theater and AMC Hoffman Theatres.

The Alexandria Film Festival is sponsored by the Alexandria Commission for the Arts and the Office of the Arts, a division of the City of Alexandria Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activitries.  For more information, entry forms and submission guidelines, visit AlexandriaFilm.org.
