Carlyle

The Carlyle neighborhood is a mixed-use community within the Eisenhower East area of Alexandria and includes high-rise residential complexes, large floor-plate office buildings, hotels and retail establishments. Just west of historic Old Town, the neighborhood includes a variety of natural and urban open spaces and parks, a balance of jobs and residents, and a retail/entertainment center, serving both a local and regional market.

Eisenhower East Small Area Plan 2019 Update

The 2003 Eisenhower East SAP established a vision for a vibrant new, urban, mixed-use community centered on the Eisenhower Avenue Metro Station. This new transit-focused neighborhood would include a variety of natural and urban open spaces and parks, a balance of jobs and housing, and a retail/entertainment center, serving both a local and regional market. Carlyle Design Review Board

The Carlyle/Eisenhower East Design Review Board reviews development applications specific to the area for compliance with the 2003 Eisenhower East Small Area Plan and 2006 Eisenhower East Design Guidelines. The Board makes recommendations to the Planning Commission and City Council through the Director of Planning and Zoning.
