Curb Extension at W. Reed Ave. and Edison St. Project - Phase I

Project Description
The City of Alexandria is extending the dedicated curb space at the intersection of West Reed Avenue and Edison Street to increase pedestrian safety when crossing the road. Infrastructure improvements will be installed around the northwest and northeast corners to increase the dedicated sidewalk area at the intersection and decrease the length of intersection crosswalks.
The City has funded one of the two proposed phases of this project.
-
Phase I: Installation of an interim design using delineators and pavement markings. (Funded)
-
Phase II: Installation of the flex posts along the final designated perimeter. (Unfunded)
Information on the scope and status of funding will be provided once it is available.
