Meeting Schedule

  • October 13, 2009 - 4 p.m. - City Hall, Mayor's Conference Room
  • November 11, 2009 - 6 p.m. - Charles Houston Recreation Center, 901 Wythe Street
    The purpose of this meeting is to receive information from agency staff liaisons to boards and commissions whose purpose is to work with children, families and youth groups. The public is welcome to attend this meeting, but there will be no opportunity for the public to provide comment.
  • December 2, 2009 - 7 p.m. - Charles Houston Recreation Center, 901 Wythe Street
    The purpose of this meeting is to receive information from public representatives on youth serving boards, commissions and committees as well as anybody with a specific interest in the success of children, families and youth groups in the City.
  • December 9, 2009 - 6 p.m. - Charles Houston Recreation Center, 901 Wythe Street
    The purpose of this meeting is to receive information from a panel of experts with a specific interest in the success of children, families and youth groups in the City. The public is welcome to attend this meeting, but there will be no opportunity for the public to provide comment.
  • January 7, 2010 - 6 p.m. - Charles Houston Recreation Center, 901 Wythe Street

Background

Community input is important to the City’s current strategic plan review and will help shape implementation moving forward.  Council Members Rob Krupicka and Alicia Hughes will lead the discussion on the children, family and youth workgroup, which focuses on “Alexandria is a Community with Public Schools Amongst Northern Virginia’s Best and Where Our Recreational Programs Provide Youth the Opportunity to Succeed.”
