DCHS CONNECT NEWS HIGHLIGHT

BalletMarch 5, 2021--Registration is open for spring classes and activities offered by the City of Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities (RPCA), and the program is offering financial assistance to community members and residents who need help covering fees.

Discounts are available to residents age 60 and older and households accessing Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Medicaid or housing assistance as well households where a child receives free or reduced lunch at an Alexandria City Public School. Any resident may request assistance outside of these categories.

The spring session offers a variety of in-person options for all ages and new virtual programs, ranging from fitness and sports programs to environmental education, camps for children and creative and performing arts programs. A complete list of spring programs is available on the City’s website.

The spring classes and activities begin in April and run through June. Financial assistance requests must be received at least two weeks prior to the start of class.

To apply for financial assistance, visit the Program & Activity Registration Information webpage and scroll to the Fee Assistance Program for City Residents at the bottom of the page. For additional fee assistance information or assistance, call 703.746.5414 or (TTY) 703.838.4902.
