‘Superhero Soiree’ Set to Celebrate Local Heroes, Benefit Kids

For Immediate Release: May 26, 2017

The Fund for Alexandria's Child (The Fund) will host its annual Fostering the Future Gala on Friday, June 9 from 7 – 10 p.m. at the Sheraton Suites Alexandria.

More than 200 attendees are expected at this year’s gala. The theme, ‘Superhero Soiree’, celebrates local heroes — kids in Alexandria and The Fund’s supporters. This event features entertainment, hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, dancing, a silent and live auction, and more.

ALL proceeds benefit children in foster care or at-risk of abuse and neglect.

Through The Fund’s community support, children are able to receive basic needs and enrichment at a critical time in their development. This year’s fundraising goal is $40,000 — which if reached — would set a program record.

The Fund for Alexandria's Child is made up of volunteers from all walks of life who want to make a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable children in our community. They go beyond what the foster care system can provide, to ensure that children in crisis can enjoy the enriching opportunities in life, such as music lessons, sports, field trips, birthday gifts, yearbooks, summer camp, outings with family, and the like.

Tickets for the Gala are currently available. For more information, contact Krystal Fenwick at 703.746.5663 or visit www.alexandriava.gov/DCHS.
