- Fire Department responded to report of a house fire in the 800 block of Duke Street
- Firefighters discovered a fire in a detached garage at the rear of a townhome in the 800 block of Duke Street
- Firefighters extinguished a fire in the garage involving at least one automobile after forcing entry into the structure.
- Cause of the fire and associated damage estimates remain under investigation at this time
At 3:55pm the Alexandria Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire in the 800 block of Duke Street. Firefighters arriving on the scene reported smoke in the area. A detached garage at the rear of 814 Duke Street was determined to be the source of the smoke. Firefighters forced entry into the building and extinguished a fire involving at least one automobile.
No injuries were reported in the incident. The 800 block of Duke Street had to be closed for approximately an hour during firefighter activities.
The cause of the fire and associated damages remain under investigation at this time.
