The City of Alexandria makes its GIS data available in multiple ways, most at no cost. The data is available in several formats, all of which is updated bi-annually. Please see the various ways to attain our data that fit your need. Additionally, those who are interested in basic geographic information or maps of the City are encouraged to visit our Standard Maps page or our Interactive Maps page, where all of the City’s most popular maps and interactive viewers can be found.
GIS Open Data Portal
The City of Alexandria’s GIS Division has opened its brand-new GIS Open Data Portal. This application will allow you to download our data in ESRI's shapefile (.shp) format, as well as other formats (including .CSV for tables and spreadsheets, .KML and API) for free. Please note that this new site is a work in progress which will continue to evolve. We are always working to continue to add new data sets, improve open data portal usability and will strive to continue to add new and improved content.
