2nd Friday After Work Concert Series

Join us for concerts second Friday of the month, now through December.

Join us in Old Town Alexandria each second Friday of the month for a concert sponsored by The Folklore Society of Greater Washington (FSGW) and The Office of Historic Alexandria. Locations will rotate between the Murray-Dick-Fawcett House (517 Prince Street), Lloyd House (220 North Washington Street), and Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum (201 South Washington Street). All concerts run from 6-8 p.m. Suggested donation for the musicians, light refreshments available, and a cash bar.

Friday, August 10: Cat and Fiddle, Renaissance and early music with Maelstrom, teen fiddle prodigies (Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum)

Friday, Sept 14: After the Flood – “Newgrass”/folk Americana string band with soaring harmonies (Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum)

Friday, Oct 12: The Natterjacks – English, Celtic, maritime, and middle eastern traditions played on guitar, violin, hammered dulcimer, concertina, flute, and percussion (Murray-Dick-Fawcett House – rain plan: Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum)

Friday, Nov 9: Cold Chocolate – groovy Americana band that fuses bluegrass, folk, and rock (Lloyd House)

Friday, Dec 14: Special Christmas concert with Meridian. $5; Free for FSGW Members (Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum)
