Summer Camp, 2008Alexandria Archaeology Summer Camp 

2017 Dates and Information

WHAT: Help Alexandria’s City archaeologists excavate a real archaeological site! Learn professional excavating, recording, and artifact processing methods. Uncover Alexandria’s buried past while protecting the City’s valuable historic resources.

WHO: Ages: 12 - 15.

WHEN: Monday-Friday, July 17-21, 2017. From 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

WHERE: The Alexandria Archaeology Museum, and a real archaeological site in Alexandria.

COST: $400 with available scholarships. A non-refundable deposit check of $100, payable to the City of Alexandria, is required upon receipt of application to secure your reservations. The balance of $300 is due by June 1 prior to the start of camp.

REGISTER: To register, fill out the  Summer Camp Application and send your payment to the Alexandria Archaeology Museum. For those in need, please fill out the  Scholarship Application

2017 Dates and Information

WHAT:  Explore life during the Civil War through fun and educational activities such as drilling and marching, hands-on craft lessons, 19th-century games, and learning from guest reenactors.

WHO: Boys and girls ages 9-12

WHEN: June 26-28, 2017, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day

WHERE: Fort Ward Museum and Historic Site, 4301 W. Braddock Road, Alexandria, Virginia 22304

COST: $200 fee includes snacks, kepi, equipment and craft supplies. Children should bring a bag lunch and a water bottle each day.

WHAT: Clio's Kids introduces children to American history and life in historic Alexandria through artifacts, storytelling, singing and crafts, "old-fashioned" games, and visits to nearby historic places.
