King Street Trolley
Making the connection from Metro to Old Town
The King Street Trolley debuted at the George Washington Birthday parade and made an encore appearance in the St. Patrick’s Day parade. Beginning April 1, the trolley opened for business, transporting riders between the King Street Metrorail station and the Old Town/Potomac waterfront.
The trolley is part of the City’s continuing efforts to manage congestion and reduce mobile emissions through encouraging residents, commuters, and visitors to choose travel options outside of driving alone.
The trolley will operate seven days per week, 11:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Every 20 minutes riders can board at the King Street Metrorail station and at any of the flagged stops along King Street, which are approximately 2-3 blocks apart. Going eastbound toward the waterfront, the last stop is at King and Lee Streets. Heading westbound toward King Street Metro, riders can begin boarding at King and Strand streets.
The best part? It’s free!
