Citizens may need to be fingerprinted for a variety of reasons: employment, permits, etc. The Volunteer Office of the Police Department offers this service to persons who either live or work in the City of Alexandria. You must have your own fingerprint card(s), which should be provided by whoever has requested your fingerprints.  We also do not accept paper copies of fingerprint cards, they must be printed on heavier cardstock paper.  You will be required to produce a valid government issued photo identification card such as a driver's license. Expired ID cards will not be an acceptable form of identification. The cost for fingerprinting on your own cards is $10.00 for the first card and $5.00 for each additional card.  Cash, check or credit card is the acceptable forms of payment, but you MUST have EXACT change if paying by cash.  We now accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex or Discover credit cards.  We also do NOT take appointments.

If you have a question, please call 703-746-6700, ext 1 for more information or you can call 703-746-1909 to leave a message.  We will get back to you as soon as we can.
