Join Us for Alexandria Earth Day 2018! This year's celebration will be held at Lenny Harris Memorial Fields at Braddock Park, 1005 Mt. Vernon Ave., on Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year's theme is Local Action, Global Impact. The event will include educational exhibits, demonstrations and hands-on activities for all ages!

This event will also feature the Upcycling Showcase, where students will show their creative interpretations of Earth Day through literature, fashion, visual arts and performing arts.

The public is encouraged to take public transit, walk or bike to the event.

Take DASH to Earth Day! 

DASH will be offering free rides for the Earth Day Event on DASH AT2, AT5, AT8 or AT10 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 28.  Click on the passes below to print and present to the driver for your free ride! Bike to Earth Day!

Want to get to Earth Day in a sustainable way? Take a bike train! There are five coming to and going from different parts of the City, including Old Town, Del Ray, Carlyle, and the West End.

Interested? E-mail your name, age, and the train you want to ride to Wisdom Gbediame at Include the words "BIKE TRAIN INTEREST" in the subject line.  Please also confirm that you are comfortable riding with a group on the street.

Bicyclists may visit for the City's Bike Map, which features Alexandria's best on-street and off-road bikeways, as well as locations of grouped bicycle parking. Bicycle to the event following the Potomac Yard Pedestrian Trail.
