2018-2019 Chinquapin Loop Road Parking Permit Application Information

0 Chinquapin Loop Road PermitFor the 2018-2019 school year, parking on the Chinquapin Loop Road will require a permit during school days and hours. Permits will be available to qualified seniors based on a lottery system, with 175 permits available. A Chinquapin Loop Road parking permit will be required for parking on the Loop Road from September 2018 through June 2019, Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The parking permit fee is $120, and the permit is valid for the 2018-2019 school year. Vehicles without a permit during these times will be ticketed and/or towed, with enforcement beginning Monday, September 24.

Application Process

For the 2018-2019 school year, parking permits for the Chinquapin Loop Road will be available to T.C. William’s seniors via a lottery process. Any senior students interested in purchasing a parking permit for the school year must have a current driver’s license to submit an application that will be entered into the lottery.  Eligible seniors may submit a single permit application from July 15 through noon September 7 and can be submitted online or hard copy. The lottery will be based on a random selection of all qualified applications received. Applications will be made available to T.C. William’s juniors if additional permits are available at the end of this process.

Apply Online (electronically): 

  1. Applicants must have an email account. Ensure you are able to connect to your email account;
  2. Open the PDF form by clicking: Chinquapin Loop Road Parking Permit Application
  3. Complete the form with the student and parent/guardian information. Senior applicants must include their VA Driver's License Number. 
  4. Upon completing the form, hit the “Submit” button in the lower right-hand corner.
  5. Once submitted, your email will open up with a message to an RPCA email account, that says "Parking Permit Application" in the "to” line, with the application attached. Hit send, and your submission is complete. You will receive a confirmation within 24 hours. 

    Please Note:  By completing this application, an applicant is not being assigned a parking permit. The permit # section should be left blank.

    Apply In-Person (hard-copy): 

    1. Beginning Sunday, July 15, hard copy applications may be submitted at the Chinquapin Park Recreation Center & Aquatics Facility, 3210 King St., during facility operating hours. Applications are available:
      1. Download and print an application: Chinquapin Loop Road Parking Permit Application; or
      2. Receive and complete an application in the Chinquapin Park Recreation Center during facility operating hours

        Please Note:  By completing this application, an applicant is not being assigned a parking permit. The permit # section should be left blank.

    All verified applications received by noon on Friday, September 7 will be eligible for the lottery. Following Alexandria City Public Schools verification of an applicants status (TC Senior), the lottery for all qualified applications will occur on Monday, September 10. Following lottery, applicants will be notified of their permit status. Detailed directions will be provided to all applicants selected through the lottery process to purchase the parking permit. Applications will be made available to T.C. William’s Juniors, with a valid VA Driver's License, if additional permits are available at the end of this process.
