Carlyle Large Dog Park will Temporarily Close to Facilitate WMATA6 Station Rehabilitation Project on July 9

For Immediate Release: June 28, 2019

The Carlyle Large Dog Park will close on or about July 9, 2019 to facilitate the installation of a drainage line to the C&J Interlocking Drainage Pump Station as part of the WMATA6 Station Rehabilitation Project. This work must occur while there is complete access to the Drainage Pump Station during the Metro Summer Shutdown.

The tennis courts, parking, and adjacent small dog park will remain open and accessible for the duration of the project. To receive information on alternative Dog Parks for use by the community, visit https://www.alexandriava.gov/Dogs.

Staff from the Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities and WMATA will hold an information meeting on Monday, July 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Carlyle Dog Park, 450 Andrew's Ln. to answer questions. In the event of inclement weather, the meeting will be held in the Carlyle Room (4th floor) at 2151 Jamieson Ave.
