Organized by Inmate Services staff, the resource fair on August 7 featured 22 exhibitors offering employment, health, training, housing and other services that can benefit ex-offenders as they return to the community.

Most of the inmates who attended are scheduled to be released within the next four months. The resource fair gave them the opportunity to meet with exhibitors providing services like transitional housing, job training, peer support, and substance abuse counseling which may aid them in their reentry to their community.

The Sheriff’s Office thanks the following organizations and agencies for participating in the resource fair: Alcoholics Anonymous, Alexandria Criminal Justice Services, Alexandria Department of Community and Human Services (including Workforce Development, Benefits Division, Domestic Violence Program, and Residential Treatment Center), Alexandria Office of Housing, Anthem, Inc., Arm & Arm, Council of Community Services, Dominion Energy, Easter Seals, Fathers In Touch, Friends of Guest House, OAR of Arlington, Probation and Parole District 36 (Virginia Department of Corrections), Rehabilitation, Reform and Reentry Resources, Inc. (R4), Spread the Vote, Together We Bake, Virginia Department of Veterans Services, Virginia Career Works – Northern Region, and VOICE (Virginians Organized for Interfaith Community Engagement).
