Sons of the American Revolution Honor Five Deputies

The Sons of the American Revolution recently recognized five deputies for their outstanding and successful efforts to rescue two individuals from life-threatening situations.

The George Washington Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution presented each deputy with the Law Enforcement Commendation Medal at a luncheon on Saturday, January 14. Deputy Joseph Runquist was honored for saving the life a choking woman while he was off-duty, and Deputies Cinie Bearden, Myrna Juarez, Manuel Lee and Devon Neckles were honored for saving the life of an inmate who had hanged himself at the William G. Truesdale Adult Detention Center.

Family members and colleagues from the Sheriff’s Office also attended the awards luncheon and joined chapter members in congratulating the honorees.
