  Subject: Ethanol Transloading Station

The following message has been sent to Senators Warner and Webb, Congressman Moran, and  City Council Members, and I will be at the Council meeting on Tuesday night to hear the response by the City.

Please help us stop the ethanol transloading station in the West End of Alexandria.  This transloading station is immediately behind Tucker Elementary School and the Cameron Station Community.  The Alexandria City Attorney has advised that the federal Surface Transportation Board (STP) recently issued a decision that preempts local zoning laws that would regulate or prohibit such railroad transloading operations, including laws requiring a special use permit for the operation.  This is wrong and please help the residents of Cameron Station and Alexandria to prohibit this transloading station.
