Holland Lane Tree Planting to Begin October 26; Southbound Lane Closures Expected
The City of Alexandria will plant four new trees in the medians along Holland Lane. Excavation work to prepare for the plantings will begin on Monday, October 26 and is expected to take approximately four days, weather permitting.
To accommodate construction equipment, southbound vehicle and bicycle lanes on Holland Lane between Jamieson Avenue and Eisenhower Avenue will be closed on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During these hours, southbound traffic will be detoured via John Carlyle Street, as shown in the map below.
Northbound vehicle lanes and the adjacent cycle track will remain open throughout the work. Drivers accessing properties along the west side of Holland Lane should use the northbound travel lane. Sidewalks will remain open on both sides of the street, and access to Whole Foods Market will not be affected.
