Alexandria Police Department (APD) will join Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) and other emergency management partners for an incident response exercise on Thursday, August 13 at the Minnie Howard Campus of Alexandria City High School (3775 W Braddock Rd.). Residents should expect to see law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical service vehicles and personnel in the area from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This activity is part of a planned training exercise and is not an actual emergency. These exercises help the City, ACPS and our regional partners strengthen coordination, evaluate emergency procedures and improve our collective readiness to protect students, staff, and the community.

No students will be present during the exercise. ACPS staff and participating agencies will practice responding to an active violence incident.

Community members should avoid the area. Only authorized participants should be on the Minnie Howard Campus during the exercise.
