Where You Belong: A New Chapter for Alexandria Recreation
The City of Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities (RPCA) is excited to introduce “Where You Belong,” a citywide campaign celebrating community, connection, and the future of recreation in Alexandria.
The campaign officially launches September 18, with William Ramsay Recreation Center becoming the first facility to showcase the new campaign through “William Ramsay Recreation Center, Friends from All Places.” Located on the west side of Alexandria, the center will offer residents a first look at what’s ahead for Alexandria’s recreation experience.
More than a fresh new look, “Where You Belong” marks the beginning of a broader investment in recreation across the city, including welcoming and inclusive spaces, facility improvements, innovative programming, and new opportunities to support the health, wellness, and well-being of residents.

Join RPCA for a family fun-filled night at William Ramsay Recreation Center and experience the campaign’s new look and feel firsthand.
Friday, September 18 | 6-8:30 p.m. | William Ramsay Recreation Center (5650 Sanger Ave.)
Bring your family, friends, and neighbors for an evening of activities, entertainment, food, and fun. The celebration will feature karaoke, cornhole, Bingo, giveaways, prizes, a live DJ, and more.
Guests can also explore a new public art mural by Washington, D.C.-based artist Tammy Barnes and learn more about the artwork and its connection to the William Ramsay community. To learn more about Tammy’s work, visit tbarnescreates.com.
