City of Alexandria Seeks Community Input on High Crash Intersections on the West End

The City of Alexandria is seeking community input on potential improvements to seven high-crash intersections in the city’s West End. Design ideas were developed based on an initial community comment period in Spring 2025, as well as best practices for roadway safety.

The City is seeking feedback on potential improvements to the following intersections:

  • King Street and Dawes Avenue
  • King Street and 28th Street
  • King Street and Park Center Drive
  • Seminary Road and Mark Center Avenue
  • Seminary Road and Kenmore Avenue/Library Lane
  • South Van Dorn Street and South Pickett Street
  • South Van Dorn Street and Edsall Road

We want to hear from you! Here’s how to participate:

  1. Complete the online feedback form by Friday, November 6.
  2. Attend the West End Transportation Open House, speak with the project team, and learn about other transportation projects happening in the West End!

    West End Transportation Open House
    Thursday, October 29, 5 – 8 p.m.

The Forum at Minnie Howard High School (3775 W Braddock Road)

This effort supports the City’s adopted Vision Zero goal of eliminating traffic deaths and severe injuries in Alexandria by targeting safety improvements at locations with a history and high risk of fatal or severe crashes.
