The anticipated revenue could cover the $432,000 for additional personnel. The FY 2023 Proposed Budget recommends using American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding because construction oversight by the City is expected to be time-limited (beginning almost immediately and lasting 2-4 years given the franchisee’s current plans) and fit within one of the primary goals for ARPA funding of investing in broadband infrastructure. Use of ARPA funds for this use allows the permitting fees to be used for other City needs.
