Question: What specific central office reductions were proposed in the ACPS Budget? The School Law Enforcement Partnership Recommendations asked ACPS to explore options for alternative education. Are there funds in the proposed ACPS budget to support a study or further exploration of alternative education options? (Councilwoman Alyia Gaskins)

Response:

ACPS reported that Central Office budgets were reduced by 10% in FY 2021. The schools have used ESSER funds to augment the staff budget and these funds will end on September 30, 2024. ACPS stated they are currently working on plans to address alternative education and there are no funds in their proposed budget for a study.
