Question: What are options for a Alexandria City High School Fire cadet program? (Mayor Justin Wilson)

Response:

The Alexandria Fire Department (AFD) and Alexandria City High School have engaged in preliminary discussions to develop a fire cadet program. During these conversations, no implementable plan or timeline has been created. In order to establish this program details such as staffing, equipment and funding will need to be established. AFD has, in the past, provided the opportunity to Alexandria City High School seniors to visit AFD for a two-week orientation where students gain first-hand exposure to the career path.
