Question: What are the specific creative revenue generating recommendations provided by Parks & Recreation Commission? (Councilman Aguirre)

Response:

The Commission encouraged RPCA through the review of the Resource Allocation & Cost Recovery Policy, to continue to look at fees that could be increased while balancing that with access for residents with fewer resources and opportunities, and to better align the programs and services the City provides with the wants and needs of our community. This included considering new projects and new uses of city spaces to consider higher fees for private rentals, increasing the use of private contracts to provide services, eliminating programs not meeting the needs of the larger community, and offering new projects and programs to increase revenue potential. RPCA will host meetings this fall to receive input and comment on the Resource Allocation & Cost Recovery Policy update. New and increased fee recommendations will be submitted with the FY 2026 budget process for City Council consideration and approval.
