As of September 2025, the Department of Planning and Zoning is now responsible for the administration of Short-Term rentals in the City of Alexandria.  For more information, please visit https://www.alexandriava.gov/zoning/short-term-residential-rentals .

Please note, pursuant to Section 3-2-141 and 142 of the Code of the City of Alexandria, Short-Term rentals are still required to collect and remit the City’s Transient Lodging Tax to the Department of Finance.  For more information see
