Project Description
The City of Alexandria enhanced the sanitary sewer system along the 500 block of South Lee Street to improve performance and increase capacity. This upgrade addressed recurring sewer backups caused by root intrusion—where tree roots enter and obstruct aging pipes—particularly during heavy rainfall.
As part of the project, the City replaced outdated 6" & 8" clay and reinforced concrete pipes with approximately 225 linear feet of 10” sanitary sewer pipe. Six property laterals were reconnected to the new main line.
