A DCHS CONNECT NEWS HIGHLIGHT
June 17, 2021--The City of Alexandria Sexual Assault Center is hosting Let’s Talk Tuesday, a summer lunchtime virtual support group for survivors of sexual assault.
Let’s Talk Tuesday, open to all genders 18 and up, is a series of six virtual support group meetings aimed at walking with survivors in their recovery journey toward a new sense of wholeness by focusing on education and fostering creativity, confidence and self-worth through artistic expression.
The support group will meet every two weeks at varying times around noon starting July 6 through August 31, with the final meeting on September 7. For times and topics, view or download a flyer about the group. Participants can attend all sessions or pick and choose which ones to attend.
Registration is required. If interested in attending, email gloria.saez@alexandriava.gov or call 703.850.9426 to complete intake; a link will be sent prior to each session.
The City’s Sexual Assault Center and Domestic Violence Program hotlines are available 24/7, and advocates are ready to listen and help. Call 703.683.7273 for the Sexual Assault Hotline or 703.746.4911 for the Domestic Violence Hotline.
