Join us at the City of Alexandria’s Eco-City Festival, being held Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 10 am to 2 pm at Ben Brenman Park in Alexandria!
The Eco-City Festival is a FREE, family-friendly event where you can take part in fun games and activities to learn more about environmentally friendly practices and interesting programs happening in our community.
Enjoy activities for all ages!
- Curious about electric vehicles (EVs)? Talk to real EV owners at our EV Showcase, test drive the latest EV models, as well as e-bikes and scooters!
- Want to learn about how you can be more sustainable in your daily life? Take part of our hands on activities and games, make bike-powered art, take a spin in the moon bounce, scale a rock climbing wall, and talk to City staff about our impactful programs.

Getting to the Festival
Leave your car at home! Getting to the Eco-City Festival is easy with DASH, which is always FREE to ride. Take Line 30, which runs every 30 minutes on Saturdays.
Or roll to the Festival on your bike or scooter. Bike Valet DMV will provide FREE bike, scooter, and stroller valet services at the event. Visit the bike valet for a courtesy E-Bike or scooter charge! Schedule express check in and checkout on Bike Valet DMV's website.
Taking Capital Bikeshare? Try out the brand new station at Brenman Park Dr. & Somervelle St!
Shared e-scooters are available across the City from Lime and GCOO for a fun, convenient way to get around!
Parking and Road Closures
The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic during the Festival:
- Brenman Park Drive between Somervelle and Ben Brenman Dr
- Somervelle St. between Brenman Park Drive and Kilburn St.
The closest parking area to the Festival will be the lot at Somervelle St. and Deer Run Ct. If you are using GPS, navigate to the West End Farmers Market to be directed to this parking lot. Festival attendees can park in the large lot close to Somervelle St, along Deer Run Ct, and in the small lot towards the playground and baseball field.
ADA parking and drop-off area are located in the parking lot at Somervelle St. and Deer Run Ct.
Navigating to Ben Brenman Park with GPS will bring you to the parking lot on the east end of the Festival, near the bathrooms. Brenman Park Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic during the Festival, so you will need to take a short walk from this parking lot through the park to the Festival area.
