Local Vaccine Efforts and Hiring Featured in Latest Strive & Thrive Podcast Episode

April 9, 2021--The City’s expanding vaccination efforts and job opportunities available at vaccination sites are discussed in the latest episode of the Strive & Thrive Alexandria Podcast, a production of the City of Alexandria Workforce Development Center (WDC).

Featured guest Dr. Anne Gaddy, Deputy Director of the Alexandria Health Department, provides an update on the City’s efforts--including what residents can expect when visiting a vaccination site and vaccination supplies--and explains the range of temporary jobs available at a vaccination site.

More than 100 temporary positions are open, ranging from health professionals to support and administration.  To review and apply,  visit alexandriava.gov/jobs, choose City Employment Opportunities (Open to All), and search “COVID” among the open positions.

WDC, in collaboration with the City’s Human Resources department, is leading an effort to help fill these roles. The Strive & Thrive Alexandria podcast provides insight into regional employment and economic trends as well as informs residents of the latest news about employment and career growth programs, new initiatives and benefits, and local jobs.
