The Workforce Development Center and regional partners are hosting JOB-TOBER: Northern Virginia’s Virtual Career Fair on October 22 from 2 - 6 p.m.

During the event, job seekers will have the opportunity to upload resumes, apply for jobs and talk with regional employers via chat and video in the areas of food preparation, sales, office and administrative support, transportation and material moving, personal care and healthcare, building and grounds cleaning and maintenance, technology, construction and extraction, and more.

The event is free, but job seekers need to register online, where they can also view a list of participating employers.

Employers interested in participating must register by October 16.

The event is a regional effort by Virginia Career Works Alexandria/Arlington, Fairfax County, Loudoun County and the Virginia Employment Commission.

WDC is hosting another virtual recruitment event on October 15. The Meet the Employer event will give job seekers the opportunity to learn more about immediate job opportunities with Atlantic Personnel Search, a local permanent placement company. The event is free, but job seekers need to register.

WDC is a trusted resource, providing services and expertise to support job seeker and employer workforce needs in Alexandria. A certified One Stop Center, WDC serves a variety of skill levels, from those with advanced degrees and years of experience to those with limited education and experience. WDC also provides a range of services at no cost to businesses.

In July, WDC launched “Strive & Thrive: Helping Alexandria Stay Resilient & Get Back to Work” to support Alexandria’s workforce and employers by offering events, services and training remotely and online, including virtual recruitment events, online job readiness and essential skills workshops, a redesigned job board and informational sessions for employers and job seekers.
