Alexandria Police Department Makes Arrest in Connection to Stabbing Incident

(*Update: June 1, 2022*):: The Alexandria Police Department has made an arrest in connection to a stabbing incident, that occurred on May 24, 2022.  

A 16-year-old juvenile male, a City of Alexandria resident, was arrested and charged with murder. The juvenile is currently being held in the Northern Virginia Juvenile Detention Center. 

The decedent Luis Hernandez, 18, was a City of Alexandria resident. 

The investigation is still ongoing.

ALEXANDRIA, VA. – The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a stabbing incident that occurred on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, that left one dead.  

The initial call for service was received at approximately 12:26 p.m. for a large group fight in the 3600 block of King Street. During the fight, one male was critically injured and transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. 

Police are still investigating the incident, and are asking anyone who may have information related to this case to contact APD Detective Christine Escobar via phone at 703.746.6819, email at Christine.Escobar@alexandriava.gov, or call our non-emergency line at 703.746.4444.  Tips can be anonymous.
