Question: Can you provide additional detail on the $150,000 proposed for “Office Space Accommodation” included in the Communications and Public Information budget? (Mayor Wilson)

Response:

The Office of Communications and Public Information’s (OCPI) current office space is at capacity for existing staff. The department will recruit four additional full-time employees (FTEs) to bring the team to its authorized headcount. The City Manager’s Office and OCPI leadership are currently scouting office space locations. As we increase in-office presence, it is necessary to identify a larger space to accommodate the 15 individuals for OCPI’s organizational structure. In addition to the basic space, the City Manager has charged OCPI with the increase of high-quality media content products through the establishment of a “broadcast space.” This will require a dedicated space for interviews, production, and upgraded equipment. The overall objective of the space (OCPI office and studio) is to create a content development hub for use across the City.
