ALEXANDRIANS 100 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN CENTENARIAN DAY RECOGNITION 

July 27, 2023: The City of Alexandria, in collaboration with the City’s Successful Aging Committee, will celebrate National Centenarian Day on September 12 at 5 p.m. in the Vola Lawson Lobby of City Hall (301 King St.).   

The City will celebrate Alexandria residents who have lived a century or longer. To be eligible, individuals must be 100 years or older by December 31, 2023. Alexandria centenarians who choose to participate in the presentation will receive a certificate honoring their lifetime experiences and achievements. To participate or submit a nomination, complete an application and social history form by August 15.   

The Successful Aging Committee includes representatives from Senior Services of Alexandria, St. Martin de Porres Senior Center (Catholic Charities), the Charles Houston Senior Center (Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority), and the City of Alexandria.  

The Aging and Adult Services Division in the Department of Community & Human Services serves seniors and adults with disabilities, with special emphasis given to those who have a low income and are most at risk of being institutionalized. Visit alexandriava.gov/Aging for more information.
