Celebrating Sustainable Beauty in Alexandria: 2025 Beautification Winners Unveiled for Residential, Residential Street, and Community Awards!
The Alexandria Beautification Commission is thrilled to announce the 2025 Beautification Awards for residential, residential street, and community properties. The 19 winners across the city were selected from over 50 commendable nominations. The Commission thanks these property owners for their dedication to enhancing Alexandria’s beauty.

Residential Street Awards
To recognize and encourage community-wide participation, we introduced a new award category that honors entire residential streets where multiple homes adopt sustainable landscaping. These blocks exemplify how collective action can create beautiful, eco-friendly corridors – inspired by neighbors learning from each other.

Community Beautification Award Winners
This year’s community winners showcase a wide variety of sustainability initiatives – from LEED Silver-certified buildings and rain gardens to native trees that cool heat islands in parking lots. The eight sites below reflect thoughtful planning, stewardship, and creativity.
Public art also continues to enhance Alexandria’s beauty and character. Among this year’s winning murals are portraits with quotes from social justice leaders that inspire passersby and a loading dock door now adorned with vibrant dogwood blossoms.
