Minnie Howard Competition Pool Reopens After Filtration System Repair
The Minnie Howard Aquatics Facility’s competition pool experienced a mechanical issue with its filtration system earlier this month, requiring an unexpected shutdown.
Aquatics staff manually troubleshot the system in the pump room before coordinating a warranty repair with the installer. The repair included rebuilding the affected portion of the filter tank, expediting replacement parts, and bringing in specialists to complete the work as quickly as possible.
During the closure, the Minnie Howard and Chinquapin aquatics teams worked together to accommodate scheduled programs, swim team rentals, and the ACHS dive team to prevent major service disruptions. Public swim hours in the training pool were also extended to provide additional options for residents.
The competition pool is now fully operational, and we appreciate the community’s patience during the repair process.
