Christmas Tree Sales Will Send Alexandria Kids to Camp: Alexandria Police Youth Camp Host Tree Sales Starting Friday to Benefit Youth Camp
For many Alexandria children, a week at the Alexandria Police Youth Camp (APYC) isn’t just a summer getaway - it’s a chance to explore the outdoors, build confidence, make new friends, and connect with positive role models. These life-changing experiences are made possible through community support, including our annual Christmas Tree Sales, which help fund partial or full scholarships based on financial need.
Beginning Friday, November 28, APYC invites you to welcome the holiday season by choosing your tree from the APYC lot. Every purchase directly supports the camp’s mission to ensure that all Alexandria youth, regardless of financial circumstances, can enjoy a week filled with growth, adventure, and connection. Our goal is to sell every tree this year.

For more than 75 years, the Alexandria Police Youth Camp has been a cornerstone of youth development in our community, volunteer-led by Alexandria Police Officers. Created to give local children positive experiences beyond the city limits, APYC has become a cherished tradition connecting generations of Alexandria families. The camp continues to focus on building confidence, resilience, and leadership through outdoor adventure and meaningful mentorship.
APYC serves youth from across the city and offers a full overnight camp experience at its dedicated site in Kilmarnock, Va. with the partnership of the Northern Neck Family YMCA - giving children a week away to explore, grow, and simply be kids.
This holiday season, bring home a tree that does more than brighten your home - it helps create lasting memories and opportunities for Alexandria’s youth.
