For Immediate Release: January 14, 2026

On January 8, 2026, Dykwon Perry Davis, a 27-year-old resident of Washington, D.C., was sentenced by the Alexandria Circuit Court to 10 years of active incarceration after pleading guilty to two felony offenses: Abduction with the Intent to Defile and Attempted Rape.

The charges arose from an investigation into the report of a sexual assault that occurred in the late evening hours of February 3, 2024, in the Potomac Yard neighborhood of the City of Alexandria. The Alexandria Police Department was the lead investigative agency on the matter. Alexandria detectives received significant assistance from the Metro Transit Police Department in Washington, D.C.

The matter was prosecuted by the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Alexandria in conjunction with the Office of the Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Both the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia and the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia provided significant assistance to the prosecution of the matter. Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorneys Harsh Voruganti and Ashtyn McDaniel and Assistant Attorney General Robert Strange were the prosecutors assigned to the case. Detectives Ryan Clinch and Michael Matteson of the Alexandria Police Department were the lead investigators.

On the Abduction with the Intent to Defile charge, the Court sentenced the defendant to 50 years of incarceration, with 40 of those years suspended upon the terms outlined below. On the Attempted Rape charge, the Court sentenced the defendant to 10 years of incarceration, with 5 of those years suspended upon the terms outlined below. The Court ordered that the two sentences run concurrently, resulting in a total term of active incarceration of 10 years.

The Court suspended the remainder of the sentence upon the following terms: the defendant’s uniform good behavior, his compliance with supervised probation for life, his registration as a sex offender, his completion of a sex offender evaluation and any required treatment, his completion of a substance abuse screening and any required treatment, and his payment of the costs of his prosecution. The Court also entered a lifetime protective order prohibiting contact with the victim.

Alexandria Commonwealth’s Attorney Bryan Porter said: “This offense involved every citizen’s nightmare: a nighttime attack on a victim apparently selected at random, just hours after the defendant assaulted and exposed himself to another victim on the Metro in Washington, D.C. My office argued for an active sentence of 25 years. While I understand that sentencing hearings are difficult and the Court must weigh competing factors in arriving at a just sentence, I am disappointed that the sentence imposed by the Court was less than that sought by my office, and I am concerned about the defendant’s danger of reoffending upon his release from incarceration.”

“My thoughts are with the survivor of this horrendous offense. While a successful prosecution cannot address the immense impact of the crime, I sincerely hope that it might offer some solace and a chance for the survivor to move forward. I thank the Office of the Attorney General for its cooperation in this investigation and prosecution.”

The defendant is being held without bail in the William G. Truesdale Alexandria Adult Detention Center pending his transfer to the Department of Corrections.
