City of Alexandria Prepares for Winter Weather: What to Expect This Weekend
With winter weather conditions predicted for this weekend, City of Alexandria staff are rested, prepared, and actively monitoring the situation – we’re ready to respond if needed to any and all conditions.
About Road Pre-Treatment
Because the approaching weather system is expected to be a rain and “wet” snow event at this time, you may not see trucks out pre-treating roadways ahead of the storm. During wet snow events, brine and other pre-treatment materials will be washed away and are ineffective.
How You Can Help
If you have a driveway, please use it. Keeping vehicles off the street gives crews the room to safely and efficiently clear roads if conditions change.
Residents can also sign up with Volunteer Alexandria’s Snow Buddy program to help neighbors clear sidewalks and driveways who may be unable to complete cleanup work themselves.
By signing up for eNews alerts from the City of Alexandria and following T&ES social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, or X, you can stay up to date with the latest information about the upcoming weather event.
